Seattle Pacific University allows institute participants to enjoy a beautiful serene setting just minutes from downtown Seattle. Just up the street from campus, there is a park with big trees and swings. There is a lovely shaded walking path along the canal near campus, and it is about a mile to cross the 4th Ave bridge to the restaurants, shops, and activities of Fremont. Breathtaking scenery, mountains, beaches and parks, Pike Place Market, the Space Needle, and the Seattle Center are nearby. Extend your time in Seattle by setting aside a few leisure days before or after institute. You might enjoy an afternoon ferry to Bainbridge Island or a longer excursion to Victoria, BC to visit the renowned Butchart Gardens (bring your passport!). Other activities include whale watching tours, visiting Mount Rainier National Park, or taking a day hike.
